An Attorney-at-Law by profession, with 31 years of experience in the Private Bar of Sri Lanka , with international exposure.

Possesses a Master’s Degree in International Commercial Law (LL.M) from King’s College, London; a Bachelor of Business Administration (BB.A) (Special) Degree from the University of Colombo; Membership in the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (M.A.A.T.) and also partly qualified in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (I.C.A.S.L.) and the Institute of Management Accountants (C.I.M.A), London, U.K., Examinations.

Served as a Commissioner of the Legal-Aid Commission of Sri Lanka and as a Member of the Executive Committee of the B.A.S.L.. Also, a Member of the Board of Governors, Sri Lanka National Arbitration Centre and a Delegate of the Bar Council of the B,A,S,L.

Serves as a Consultant in several organisations, including the KICASC and BUWA of China RADANKS, UK and BIMACC, India. A BIMACC-certified International Mediator.

Human Rights Defender and Activist, and a Member of the Law & Society Trust and Friday Forum.

Researcher, Free-lance Journalist, and Lecturer. Delivered many a lecture at numerous international conferences.
